Today we rejoice at Easter as the tomb is empty! These past Forty Days of Lenthave been a time for us to reflect on the changes we would like to make in our life and remind ourselves that we are all on this journey together. Our Lenten Theme this year was “Under Construction, Spiritual Renovation.
” Hopefully these last Forty Days have been a time to be refreshed and renewed.
In the Gospel of St John, Mary Magdalene, Peterand the Beloved Disciple all encounter the empty tomb of Jesus. Easter is a time of joy and new life as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus and the gift of eternal life. This new life and Christ requires change in our lives and, while change is never easy, it opens the door to opportunity and growth. As we celebrate Easter 2019 and being the Church Alive, let us continue moving forward to eventually become one faith Catholic Community here in the East End of Pittsburgh!
