The concert, with the award winning jazz pianist, Deanna Witowski, is a presentation by the Sharing the Light Speaker Series from St. Jude Parish.

Ms. Witowski will perform “Mary Lou’s Mass”, aka “Music for Peace”, with 12 singers  and an instrumental jazz quartet.

Mary Lou Williams, who grew up in East Liberty and is an aunt of parishioner, Bobbie Ferguson, was an American jazz pianist, arranger, and composer. She wrote hundreds of compositions and arrangements and recorded more than one hundred records.
 
Throughout the 1960s, her composing concentrated on sacred music, hymns, and Masses.
