"Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven."  James 5:14-15

The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is a ritual of healing appropriate not only for those in immediate danger of death but also for those suffering from physical, mental, or spiritual sickness. With this Sacrament, the individual receives from the Holy Spirit the graces of strengthening, peace, and courage to overcome the difficulties that go with the condition of serious illness or the frailty of old age.
