On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (December 19th, 20th and 21st) at 5:00 PM the St. James 20-bell carillon will be announcing to Wilkinsburg the coming of Christmas.
Michael Kearney has agreed to play Christmas carols for about 20 minutes each evening. Michael is a native of Long Island, New York and a graduate of Geneva College, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Rhetoric and Philosophy of Communication at Duquesne University. Michael’s passion is to set the Psalms to beautiful music to reach the hearts of God’s people and his five-part motet on Psalm 103 was the Inaugural Psalm for Geneva College’s twentieth president, Dr. Calvin Troup. During the October Sacred Places Tour in Wilkinsburg, Michael performed an organ recital at Saint James. As part of the recital he utilized the 20-bell carillon. Please stop by to listen to the beautiful bells on the 19th, 20th or the 21st.
