The rich contemplative and storytelling traditions in the Catholic Church are rooted in Scripture, with Jesus himself as the Master Storyteller. Join us in the coming weeks for an hour of engagement with the Scriptures through the visual arts and journaling, leading to the telling of our own stories of faith in relation to the Christian story and vision. All are welcome to participate in these hour-long gatherings by listening to stories from Scripture, contemplating artworks based on those stories, and relating them to our own faith pilgrimages through guided journaling exercises.
This series is sponsored by the St. Mary Magdalene Spiritual Enrichment Committee and will be led by new parishioner Dr. Shan Overton, who leads the Doctor of Ministry program in Creative Writing and Public Theology at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
Join us in the St. Bede School Cafeteria on Wednesdays, November 16 and 30, and December 7 and 14, from 7 to 8 pm for what is sure to be a rich time of sharing during the Advent season.
