Earlier this month our parish entered into a transitional period and Bishop Zubik asked us to join him in prayer as he began the process of discernment in identifying who would enter into the role of clergy leadership at our parish. This weekend, he has announced the outcome of that discernment:

• Effective November 13, 2023, Rev C. Matthew Hawkins will conclude his assignment as Parochial Vicar at St Mary Magdalene Parish and St Benedict the Moor Parish and will begin his new assignment as Administrator of St Benedict the Moor Parish.  

• Effective November 1, 2023, Rev Lawrence D. Adams will assume the role of Pastor of St Mary Magdalene Parish. He will continue his assignment as Associate General Secretary for Special Projects for the Diocese of Pittsburgh on a part-time basis. On November 5, 2023, Bishop Zubik will install Fr Larry as Pastor at the 11 am Mass at St Bede Church.

We will miss Fr Matt at St Mary Magdalene Parish and would like to congratulate him and thank him for his ministry at our parish over the past three years. We will pray for him as he begins his new role as Administrator at St Benedict the Moor Parish!

We would also like to welcome Fr Larry in his role as Pastor of St Mary Magdalene Parish, and ask that you keep him and our parish in your prayers as he begins his new role in our parish family!
