There will be a performance of the
Sacred Music of Mary Lou Williams on Saturday, December 1, from 7 to 9 pm at Bellefield Hall, located at 315 South Bellefield Avenue, 15213.
Mary Lou Williams, who grew up in East Liberty and an aunt of parishioner, Bobbie Ferguson, was an American jazz pianist, arranger, and composer. She wrote hundreds of compositions and arrangements and recorded more than one hundred records.
Throughout the 1960s, her composing concentrated on sacred music, hymns, and Masses.
